The city of Bloomington is located in scenic south-central Indiana, approximately fifty miles southwest of Indianapolis. Bloomington’s popular downtown district offers an amazing assortment of shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. The Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District occupies a 60-block section of downtown and is home to such notable establishments as the Bloomington Playwrights Project, Comedy Attic, and Back Door Bloomington, the city’s hottest new venue for music, dance, and the arts. The B-Line Trail runs through the heart of downtown, taking participants past significant public art displays before connecting with the Bloomington Rail Trail for more than seven miles of maintained trail paths that are open to the public.

Bloomington is home to numerous festivals and special events, including the world-renowned Lotus World Music and Arts Festival, a 4-day event held each September that brings an eclectic blend of music from around the world to the streets of downtown Bloomington. Other prominent festivals include the Plant-It-X Fest, Fourth Street Arts & Crafts Festival, and the Little 500, a cycling event billed as “The World’s Greatest College Weekend” held each April at Bill Armstrong Stadium on the campus of Indiana University.
